Megawide recorded 9 million safe man hours in May 2023 for the Urban Deca Ortigas project. The feat demonstrates the company’s singular commitment to occupational safety and health.
Work commenced in August 2022. The overall development consists of 960 units for Building 7 as well as for Building 8 and sits on ground covering 818,109.18 square meters. Located at 223 Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City, Urban Deca is a development by the 8990 Housing Development Corporation.
“The project utilizes 90% precast technology,” shared Frederick Tan, Chief Operating Officer for Megawide Construction, explaining the development’s speedy and successful completion. “The use of prefabricated materials like toilets, which are manufactured at our precast plant, was also significant in the project’s acceleration.” Tan added that the Urban Deca project was one of the few projects to utilize a “full precast system,” which minimized costs and need for manpower.
Committed to safety
The project site also recorded 9 million safe man hours on May 19 demonstrating commitment to occupational safety and health.
As of this year, Megawide has tallied a total of 25 million safe man hours in its projects.
