Megawide Foundation is strengthening further its commitment to education by forging new partnerships with esteemed academic institutions. The Foundation recently formalized agreements with the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) Manila and Thames International, expanding its scholarship program to support more students in engineering and digital commerce.
On March 12, Megawide Foundation and TUP Manila solidified their collaboration through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing at the TUP Campus. This partnership aims to provide financial and academic support to students pursuing careers in mechanical and electrical engineering.
Key representatives from both institutions attended the signing ceremony, including Dr. Reynaldo Ramos, President of TUP; Ms. Purabella Agron, CPA, Vice-President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Margaret Aquino, Director of the Office of Student Affairs; and Assistant Professor Elizabeth Verayo. Representing Megawide Foundation were Tata Saavedra, President, and Atty. Carmela Castro, Executive Director.
The Megawide Scholarship Program goes beyond financial assistance by providing mentorship, leadership training, and life skills development through its ‘MeGabay’ sessions. Megawide Foundation President Tata Saavedra emphasized the significance of the initiative.
“Education is one of the key pillars of nation-building. Through this partnership with TUP, we are investing in the next generation of builders and innovators who will contribute to a First-World Philippines,” she shared.
TUP President Dr. Reynaldo Ramos echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of industry-academic collaboration.
“We are grateful for Megawide Foundation’s all-out support. This partnership ensures that our students receive not only financial assistance but also holistic development opportunities that prepare them for the real world.” he shared.
In another initiative, Megawide Foundation has partnered with Thames International School to introduce an E-Commerce Program under its scholarship program. This collaboration marks Thames International as the first institution to offer digital business education through the Foundation’s academic support initiative.
The signing ceremony formalized the commitment of both institutions to provide students with practical knowledge and digital skills essential for today’s economy. The E-Commerce Program will cover digital marketing, online business operations, and entrepreneurial strategies, ensuring scholars gain industry-relevant expertise.
These partnerships uphold Megawide Foundation’s mission of promoting academic excellence and professional growth among Filipino students. By embracing digital transformation and innovative learning models, the Foundation ensures that scholars remain competitive in a digital and globalized economy.
