In a turnover ceremony, Megawide Foundation officially handed over newly constructed comfort rooms to Sitio Simona Elementary School in Taytay, Rizal. The event, which was held on January 8, highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to its social pillar and to uplifting communities through infrastructure and social support.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the school’s Principal, Maria Ellen Losito, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Megawide Foundation for addressing a long-standing need of the school’s pupils and personnel. “This generous donation is a symbol of care and commitment to our students’ well-being and education,” shared Losito.
The event was graced by key local government officials, including Hon. Allan De Leon, Municipal Mayor of Taytay, and Hon. Philip Cruz, Municipal Councilor. Both officials lauded Megawide Foundation’s efforts and emphasized the importance of private sector partnerships in driving community development. “This initiative sets an example of how corporations can create lasting impacts in their host communities,” noted Mayor De Leon.
Megawide Foundation Executive Director Atty. Mia Castro, who led the ceremony, reiterated the Foundation’s mission of empowering communities by addressing essential needs in education and community infrastructure. “We believe that sustainable progress begins with empowering communities. These comfort rooms are a step toward creating a healthier, more conducive learning environment for the students of Sitio Simona Elementary School,” said Castro.
Megawide’s subsidiaries—Precast and Construction Solutions Unit led by Human Resources Head Mark Flores and PH1 World Developers Human Resources Head James Lee—also took part in the ceremony.
