“Duck, Cover and Hold!” These are the three actions every employee must take in the event of an earthquake.
Last July 19, the Megawide Head Office participated in the MMDA Metro Manila Shake Drill, in observance of the National Disaster Consciousness Month. MMDA’s earthquake drill aims to prepare employees on the safest way to respond in the event of an earthquake.
Megawide HSE reminded employees of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” tips to be followed once the building alarm rings. At exactly 1:00 PM, the alarm was triggered by the Building and Facilities Team. Everyone followed the proper steps of “Duck, Cover, and Hold,” but employees were unable to evacuate the building due to inclement weather.
In spite of this, the correct observance of the safety responses made the drill a success—thanks to the combined efforts of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team and the Security and Utilities Team.
